Lions Club Padubidri - Installation ceremony 2010-11
Padubidri, July 11th: MJF Lion Dr. Ravindranath Shetty (Past Dist. Governor, Lions Dist. 324-D4) installed the new team of office bearers for the new Lionistic year 2010-11, under the new President Lion James Dain Andrade and Lioness President Lns. Irene Andrade, at a function held at Pingara Hall of Hotel Pallavi on July 11th. MJF Ln. Jayashree Krishnaraj (Regional Chairperson, Region-II) was present at the occasion. New member Mr. Maxim Malvin D'Souza was inducted to the Lions club. Master Vinayak (son of MJF Ln. Dr. N.T. Anchan and Lns. Sucharitha N. Anchan) was felicitated by the Installing Officer, for securing 95th rank in Karnataka CET-2010 exams and also for scoring 97.2% in IInd PUC-PCMB.  Kumari Abrar, Kumari Sumalatha and Kumari Amra from Lions English Medium High school who passed with distinction in recently held SSLC examinations, were also felicitated.  Outgoing President Lion P.R. Navada thanked all the members from Lions clubs and also non-Lion member Mrs. Kasturi Ramachandra for their tremendous support for various service activities during his tenure. 'Jeevanadhara Dhyana Yoga camp' Inaugurated
Padubidri, July 9th: 'Jeevanadhara Dhyana Yoga' camp was inugurated by Swami Nirav Sanketh from Jeevanadhara Dhyana Yoga centre from Sasthan. The programme was jointly organised by JCI Padubidri, Rotary club and Lions club.  Daily 3 hours training will last till July 19th. Inauguration of Educomp's 'Smart Class' at Lions English Medium High School Padubidri
Padubidri, April 9th:  Mr. D. Manjunathiah (B.E.O. Udupi) inaugurates 'Smart Class' at Lions English Medium High School, Padubidri. Lions Educatioal Trust President Ln. Y. Gopal Shetty, Vice President Ln. Dr. N.T. Anchan, Trustees Ln. Ramesh Achar, Ln. Y. Damodar, Ln. James Andrade,  Taluk Physical Education Superintendent Mr. Vittal Shetty, Head Master of Ajjarkad High School Mr. T. Manjappa, Educomp's Sales Manager Mr. Nestor D'Costa, Padubidri JCI President Jc. Hareesh Kumar Hajamady, Press Correspondents, Headmistresses Mrs. Pavana (Primary section) & Mrs. Savita (High school section), teachers and staff  of Lions School were present. 'Smart Class' system consists of a centralised server and a set of sub-units consisting of a PC, an LCD projector, Interactive board with electronic pen and audio system in every class room. With this system, the learning becomes an enjoyable experience for the students with digital resources, such as, 3D graphics & images, Video clips and animations, covering the entire curriculum as per state syllabus.  The interactive board with electronic pen is highly useful for the teachers who can write over the projected display in order to elaborate a certain topic.  All the 12 class rooms (Nursery to Xth Std.) are fitted with this system at an estimated total cost of Rs. 42 lacs.   
Lions English Medium High School celebrates Independence day
Padubidri, Aug. 15th: Independence day celebration was held at Lions English Medium High School Padubidri. Lions club President Ln. James Andrade hoisted the national flag and MJF Lion Jayashree Krishnaraj, Region Chairpeson for Lions District 324-D4, Region II, was the Chief Guest. She expressed her happiness over the progress of Lions School and appreciated the 'smartclass' technology implemented in all  12 class rooms.  She also handed over the awards to Primary section boys for winning 1st prize in block-level Kabaddi matches and both boys and girls for standing second in block-level Kho Kho matches. Udupi Taluk-level Throwball tournament for Primary school students held in Lions School
Padubidri, August 21st: Udupi Taluk-level Throwball tournament was held at Lions English Medium School, Padubidri, for primary school boys and girls. The tournament was inaugurated by Sitaram Shetty, the President of Physical Education Association. Padubidri Lions Club President Ln. James Andrade presided over the function. The President of Lions Educational Trust, Ln. Y. Gopal Shetty, welcomed the guests. Padubidri Past Mandal Panchayath President Ratnakar Raj gave away the prizes to winners, St. Mary's English Medium School Udupi and runners up Christian school Moodubelle. In the girls section, St. Cicily's school Udupi were the winners and Indrali English Medium School Udupi were runners up. Ln. Ramesh Acharya, Ln. Dr. N.T. Anchan, Ln. Sadashiva Achar, Ln. Y. Vanamahotsava celebrated in Padubidri
Padubidri, August 30th: Vanamahotsava was celebrated by Lions club Padubidri and Innerwheal club Padubidri at Lions English Medium school. Various kinds of plants were planted and distributed to the students and the public. MJF Lion Dr. N.T. Anchan and Smt. Sucharitha N. Sri Padur Vadiraja Tantri felicitated on Teachers day
Padubidri, Sep. 5th: Sri Padur Vadiraja Tantri was felicitated by Lions club Padubidri, as a mark of tribute for his contribution to the society in the field of education. After serving as a botany lecturer in Poornaprajna P.U. College, Admar, he became the Head Master of Ganapathi High School, Padubidri, which is also managed by Admar Mutt. After his retirement, he has given prime importance to agriculture, thereby spending his retired life fruitfully and contributing to the progress of the country.
A wheel chair donated to an elderly woman
Padubidri, Oct. 18th:  A wheel chair was donated jointly by JCI Padubidri, Lions & Lioness club, and Lanco Foundation to an elderly woman Laxmi Devadiga from a poor family from Nandikur and had lost her foot after a surgery.  Her family could not afford a wheel chair and had requested for help.  During the hand over, JCI President Harish Kumar Hejmady, Lions club President James Andrade, Arun Kamath from Lanco Foundation, Palimar Grama Panchayath member Satish Devadiga and new correspondents Chethan Padubidri and Hamid Padubidri were present.
Dr. N.T. Anchan felicitated for bagging 'Samaj Ratna' award
Padubidri, Oct. 24th: Dr. N.T. Anchan, a renowned ayurvedic doctor, was felicitated by Lions and Lioness club Padubidri during Lions District 325-D4 Region Chairperson MJF Ln. Jayashree Krishnaraj's visit, at a function held at Lions English Medium School hall on Oct. 24th evening. The 'Samaj Ratna Award' was conferred on him by Bangalore-based 'Ranga Samaj' cultural organization for the year 2009-10, for his extraordinary contributions in the field of social service and medicines.  He had received the award during the Seventh All India Kannada Sahitya and Samskrutic Sammelan held at Dr. Vishveshvarayya Auditorium of Karnataka Sangh, Matunga (West) on Sunday, Oct. 10th.  In Padubidri, he was felicitated by Past District Governor of Lions District 324-D4 MJF Ln. Suresh Shetty and Region II Chairperson MJF Ln. Jayashree Krishnaraj.  Padubidri Lions clunb President Ln. James Andrade, Lioness club President Lns. Irene Andrade, Region III Chairperson Ln. World LIons Service Day celebrated
Gandhi Jayanti celebrated by giving financial aid to the needy
World LIons service day was observed by visiting St. Joseph's home for aged at Palimar and by distributing fruits to all the senior citizens and giving finanial aid to two very poor patients to bear the cost of medicines. Prior to this, a financial assistance of Rs. 7000 was given to Master Nikhil who is suffering from cancer.

Childrens Day celebrated in an unique and meaningful manner
Padubidri, November 14th: Childrens day was celebrated in Lions School Padubidri, in an unique and meaningful manner, as four and half years old UKG student Neha (in the centre of the picture) presided over the function and delivered her presidential address in an impressive way. Other students (including the one with the microphone) also spoke about the significance of childrens day.    Padubidri Grama Panchayat Vice President Smt. Sewanti Sadashiv was the Chief Guest. The Inner Wheal club sponsered the prizes for various sporting events held in the school and Inner wheal president Smt. Sucharita N. Anchan gave away the prizes. Lions club educational trust president Ln. Y. Gopal Shetty, Lions club Padubidri president Ln. James Andade, Lioness club President Lns. Irene Andrade, Rotary club Preisident Rtn. Madhav Suvarna and the members of Lions club, Rotary club and Inner wheal club were present alongwith teachers, staff, students and parents. Teacher Gracy compered the ceremony and Headmistress Shwetha gave vote of thanks.
'Pratibha Karanji' - Padubidri Lions English Medium School students excel
Padubidri, Nov. 26: In Padubidri-Adve cluster level cultural competition called 'Pratibha Kanranj' held at Govt. P.U. College hall, the students from Lions English Medium School Padubidri, excel by winning highest number of  prizes in various competitions held. They have bagged a total number of 28 prizes (13 first, 8 second and 7 third. Around 25 schools had participated in the event.
Anemia detection camp inaugurated
Padubidri, Dec. 15th: Anemia detection camp under the banner of 'Anemia Free India' was inaugurated by Lions and LIoness club Padunbidri in association with Avishkar Clinical Laboratory Padubidri. Haemoglobin check and blood grouping will be carried out in all higher primary shools of Padubidri starting from Zilla Panchayat Higher Primary School. The camp was inaugurated by Dr. B. B. Rao, Medical Officer of Primary Health Centre Padubidri. In his speech he explained the students about symptoms, causes and remedy for Anemia. Padubidri Lions club president Ln. James Andrade presided over the function. Lioness president Lns. Irene Andrade, proprietor of Avishkar clinic Kishan Shetty, Lions District chairperson for Ayurvedic medicine MJF Ln. Dr. N.T. Anchan, Lioness district chairperson for medical camps Lns. Sucharita N. Anchan and teacher Florine Alva were present. The project manager of the function Ln. Vishukumar Shetty gave vote of thanks.
Annual day of Lions School Padubidri
Padubidri, Dec. 30th: Annual day of Lions English Medium school was celebrated on 30th Dec. 2010. Past District Governor of Lions District 324-D4 MJF Ln. Dr. Ravindranath Shetty presided over the function. Mr. Ramdas Arya, the Principal of PPC PU college Admar, and Mr. Ratnakar Raj, Past President of Mandal Panchayat Padubidri were the guests of honour. Mr. Ramdas Arya, stressed on parents' role in children's education. Mr. Ratnakar Raj congratulated the management for introducing modern way of teaching through 'smart class'. The programme was followed by various cultural activities by the students.

Official visit of Lions District 324-D4 1st Vice District Governor , 2nd Vice District Governor and Lioness coordinator was held in Padubidri on 15th Januray 2011. As a part of service activities of Lions club Padubidri, 1st Vice District Governor MJF Ln. Jayakar Shetty Indrali handed over letter of sponsorship of free education to 5 poor students, to Lions Educational trust president Ln. Y. Gopal Shetty. 2nd Vice District Governor MJF Ln. Dr. Madhusudhan Hegde released club bulletin 'Nempu'. In response to an appeal in Udayavani and Vijaya Karnataka, financial assistance was given to Kum. Manya, daughter of Gangadhar, requiring expensive hearing implant, by Lioness District coordinator Sarita Santosh with an assurance of additional funds to be raised in Manipal. As a part of 'Care for girl child', a financial aid was given to two poor children from Padubidri. Advocate and Notarty Smt. Sharlet Furtado was feliciated for being appointed as Christian Marriage Registrar for Udupi District. Lions president Ln. James Andrade welcomed the guests. Lioness president Lns. Padubidri Police - Crime Prevention Month observed in association with Lions & Lioness club Padubidri
Padubidri, Dec. 23rd: Crime Prevention Month waqs observed by Padubidri Police in association with Lions & Lioness club Padubidri by organising a procession by school students distributing hand bills on tips to prevent crime. Police sub-inspector of Padubidri Police station Mr. M Mahadeva Shetty explained to the students about precautions to be taken by children to prevent crime. MJF Ln. Dr. N.T. Anchan also addressed the students. Lions club President James Andrade, Lion Vishukumar Shetty, Ln. Y. Gopal Shetty were present.
