Padubidri Ramanatha Acharya passes away
Padubidri, April 12th, 2016:  Shree Puthige Mutt's Asthana Vidwan and renowned teacher Ramanatha Acharya (89) from Rajapurohit class priest family passed away on Tuesday, April 12th, after a brief period of illness.  Being a post graduate in Samskrit, Hindi and Kannada, he had served as a teacher, Padubidri Khadgeshwari Brahmasthana's priest and also had contested in Vidhana Sabha elections twice from Kaup constituency as an independent candidate.
After starting his teaching career from Padubidri, he served for 20 years as a Kannada Pandit in Wadala High school, Mumbai. After returning home from Mumbai he served further as a Kannada Pandit for 22 years in Bykampady, Yermal, Muloor and Padubidri government high schools before his retirement.

He was very close to Shree Puthige Mutt Swamiji Shri Sugunendra Tirtha Sripada and his book "Pancharatna Prakashika" was released during the last Paryaya Utsav.  Chennai university also had published the "Pancharatna Prakashika" in the year 2009.

Udupi Paryaya Shri Vishveshatirtha Sripada, Puthige Shri Sugunendra Tirtha Sripada, minister Vinay Kumar Sorake and former MLA Lalalji R. Mendon expressed their sorrow and condolences.

Mr. Acharya is survived by a son and three daughters.
